Urology is a surgical specialty that treats diseases of the kidneys (in cooperation with the kidney doctors-nephrologists), the ureters, the bladder, the urethra and micturition problems of men and women.

By men, the urologist can diagnose and treat prostate or genitalia diseases, as well as sexual function disorders.

Incontinence, urolithiasis (kidney-/bladder- or ureterstones) and urological oncology are also issues that urology deals with.

The modern endoscopic and laparoscopic techniques, the urodynamic evaluation and the laser technology provide a considerable armamentarium for diagnosis and treatment.
